If you have been following me for a while now you might have seen that I have my own Disney Princess. She had a not so stellar weekend after going out with friends, so I planned on surprising her today, and surprising her I did!
Planning the surprise
While at work yesterday I was texting my Disney Princess and she was telling me how she had a bad weekend when she went out with friends. She was bummed out by certain things that had happened and I couldn’t let that happen, I am after all her Disney Prince.
So first I told her that we should go out next thursday and she happily agreed. We’re going to the city center of Amsterdam and will be visiting the Hard Rock Cafe for dinner and drinks. After that we will be going to the movies to see End Game for the second time together.
But that’s 4 days from now, so I wanted to see if I could do an extra surprise, a smaller surprise. I know that she spends a lot of her time in the library, yes she’s a Belle, to study. So I thought why not have a new surrounding to my writing. So I started asking questions ranging from: “what time will you be there?” and “Where do you often sit?”. She of course got a bit suspicious and starting asking why I was asking all of this, on which I replied that I was just curious. She also started hinting that she wouldn’t mind if I’d come by and worked on my blog next to her.
But the trickster that I am, I told her I was thinking of going to the Library of Amsterdam instead of Almere where she always goes to. So I trew her for a loop.
Day of the surprise
So the day arrived and I didn’t come home untill 1:45 A.M. and I knew to surprise her I would have to be early. so my alarm was set on 8 A.M. and waking up was very difficult. I knew I had to set 3 alarms just so I wouldn’t fall asleep again. But I knew that it would be worth it.
I send her a good morning message with a picture that I found on google of the library of Amsterdam, it was kind of hard to find a non professional picture, but it was achieved! In the subtext of what she send me back I could feel that she was bummed out that I wasn’t there in Almere but in Amsterdam. But, little did she know, I was already in Almere. I had this whole plan on how I would wait 5 minutes before I would enter and then look her up in the library. But I couldn’t find her. So I send her a message saying that I thought I was lost and made a picture of the library and told her “surprise! I’m actually in Almere!”. But I wanted her to work for it, so I snapped a couple of pictures and told her to find me while I was reading a Donald Duck comic.
Eventually she found me after a couple of new hints and she said: “you are a ray of sunshine on a very cloudy day”. I really made her day by just being there.
I told her that this would be a new step in our friendship and relationship. We’ve had the fun, the lust and the cuddling. But now it was time for the serious studying.
Being there for her
That’s what a Disney Prince should do, be there for your princess. If she has a bad week, make sure you surprise her by being the ray of light in her life at that moment. Everyone has their bad days or weeks, but a real friend will go out of his or her way to make your friend’s life awesome again.
